This tour takes place over two days and includes one night at a mountain hut at the 7th station (3,000 meters). The standard itinerary is to watch the sunrise from outside our mountain hut accommodation; however, if the stars align (favorable weather, dry gear, good group pace, etc.), the guides may opt for a summit sunrise attempt.
Utilizing the Subashiri trail for a less crowded and more local experience, this trip will guide you to the summit of Mt. Fuji, escaping the crowds along the way. The trip begins with custom pick-up at your accommodation in Tokyo or the Mt. Fuji area. On Day 1, we climb to a mountain hut located above 3,000 meters. Then on Day 2, we climb to the summit and back down the mountain. |

Mountain huts on Mt. Fuji were originally built as emergency shelters and exist to this day as shelters from harsh mountain conditions. Our hut offers simple dorm style accommodation. Because the mission of huts on Mt. Fuji is to provide safety and shelter to as many hikers as possible, it is not possible to pay for extra space. The mountain hut will provide the essential shelter and food you need to reach Mt. Fuji's summit.
It is important to note that huts on Mt. Fuji, including this hut, do not provide a heated dry room for drying out wet gear. Be sure to climb with spare, dry clothes kept in dry bags so you will have a change of clothes in the event you show up at the mountain hut in wet weather. Mt. Fuji mountain huts offer a fantastic cultural experience unique to Mt. Fuji and are a great way of meeting fellow climbers, exchanging stories, and experiencing camaraderie that you will never find in a five star hotel. |

Included in your tour is lunch and dinner on Day 1 and breakfast on Day 2. Lunch on day 1 is provided at the trail head, just before embarking on our climb. There is a large variety of traditional Japanese cuisine to choose from, including ramen, katsudon, soba, etc. Dinner is served at our lodging at the 7th station and includes a filling meal of hamburger steak, rice, and pork soup. Breakfast is provided as a packed bento and includes rice, pickled vegetables, tamago-yaki (Japanese omelet), sausage, and canned sardines. After descent we will stop by the 5th station where participants are given time to eat lunch if you choose to do so. You will need pack snacks for each day of your climb.
If you are not able to eat Japanese food we ask that you buy food previous to the hike and bring it up with you. A vegetarian option is available for dinner on Day 1. |
