Fuji Mountain Guides was launched in the summer of 2007, becoming the first English/Japanese speaking tour guide company up Mt. Fuji. Ever since, FMG has sought to bridge the gap between non-Japanese speaking foreigners and the Japanese. Founded by professional guides who believe as much in summating mountains as experiencing their unique mystique, Fuji Mountain Guides has built a legacy of authentic and challenging tours in Japan. It is our desire that each and everyone that climbs Mt. Fuji with us, will leave behind only fond memories of Japan and its people.
Proven track record
Since its inception in 2007, FMG has guided over 5,000 clients successfully and safely to the summit of Mount Fuji. With so many successful tours, we're confident that your experience with us will be just as good.
Pursuing the spirit of Japan's sacred summit. It's all in the journey. Above all we want you to enjoy and understand this ancient sacred path as you tour Mt. Fuji. Our desire is to help you have an authentic non-touristy experience on Mt. Fuji. What ever we do, we do it in the Japanese style. At Fuji Mountain Guides we don't simply climb Fuji, we feel it.
Fuji Mountain Guides knows how to avoid the tourists. In its peak season (Jul 1-Aug 31) Mt. Fuji can get very crowded. Most tourists take one of the two most popular climbs up Mt. Fuji but there are lesser known routes climbed mostly by locals. Fuji Mountain Guides can take you there.
Because Fuji Mountain Guides is an independent tour operator focused specifically on Mt. Fuji, we are able to work with your schedules and special needs. If you have any questions about scheduling, groups, tours, or special needs feel free to check out our private tours or contact us.
Check out what our past clients have said about us here. We do our best to make your Mt. Fuji experience as fun and worry free as possible. We love it when our guests benefit from our work.
No more language barrier
We are proud to be the first guiding outfit on Mt. Fuji to offer tours led by bilingual and international guides specifically for English speaking people. Because the majority of FMG guides are bilingual internationals, we understand your perspective and will help you connect with locals. Feel confident and informed in every decision made along the way.
Fuji Mountain Guides strives to provide clientele with the safest, most enjoyable and unforgettable tour experience while bridging the gap between foreigners and the local Japanese.
