Day 1: Mountain Hut Accommodation above 3,000 meters

Huts on Mt. Fuji were originally built as shelter from harsh mountain conditions and offer simple dorm style accommodation. Accommodations consist of a bunk, bedding, sleeping bag and pillow all in the Japanese style.

From summer 2021 guests are each afforded 1 tatami mat worth of space, an upgrade from the previous conditions. However, there will still be multiple climbing parties sleeping in the same room. Eye masks, as well as ear plugs come highly recommended and are provided by FMG.

These huts offer a fantastic cultural experience unique to Mt. Fuji and are a great way of meeting fellow climbers, exchanging stories, and experiencing camaraderie that you will never find in a five star hotel.
