Shin Fuji station can be easily accessed via the bullet train from major stations such as Tokyo, Kyoto or Osaka. After a private transfer to the Mt. Fuji Satoyama Vacation base, the group will enjoy a bento lunch before embarking on an an afternoon e-bike tour of the surrounding countryside. Finish the day back at Satoyama Vacation with a farm-to-table barbecue of locally sourced vegetables and meat. Accommodation for the night is the cozy and laid back Glamping facility at Satoyama Vacation. What is Glamping? Glamping is upscale camping, or camping with a bit of glamour.
Day 2-3: Summiting Mt. Fuji
Day 2
After breakfast, you will check out of Satoyama Vacation and depart for your Mt. Fuji climb, with a private transfer provided by Satoyama Vacation. The climb takes place over two days, with the majority of the ascent knocked out on day 1. Upon reaching our mountain hut at 3,300 meters, guests will enjoy a hot dinner of all you can eat curry rice, then rest and lodge for the night.
Day 3
Awake before dawn, as we continue our climb up in the dark, lighting the path with head lamps. After a 2 hour climb to the summit, we will enjoy the sunrise from Japan's highest peak!

Weather permitting, the option to climb around the crater will be on offer. After celebrating our summit and eating a hot breakfast of eggs, ham, rice and miso soup, the group will descend back to the Fujinomiya 5th station and return to your accommodation of choice within Tokyo or the Mt. DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Satoyama Vacation Glamping

Mt. Fuji Satoyama Vacation is a beautiful retreat site, camping facility, and ecotourism hub centered around the pervasive concept of Japanese "Wa". Experience Glamping (Glamorous Camping) with a private, front-row seat to Mt. Fuji’s dynamic views.

Satoyama Vacation Amenities
Satoyama Vacation facilities include three spacious, 4 person glamping tents, comfortable beds with bedding, full kitchen and fridge, espresso machine, 2 shower rooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 full decks, hammocks, comfortable seating indoor and outdoor, fire pits, telescopes for star gazing etc.

Note: Private vs. Shared Glamping Facility

For up to 4 people, there is a possibility that the Glamping facility will be shared with another group. This means the common spaces i.e. the lounge, deck, garden etc. will be utilized by other guests as well. A reservation of 5+ people will secure the entire Glamping site for your private use. Glamping tents are of course never shared.

Day 2: Akaiwa Hachigo Mountain Hut 3,300m

Akaiwa Hachigo mountain hut is located at 3,300 meters at the 8th Station. This mountain hut is located approximately 2 hours from the summit of Mt. Fuji and marks the final crux on the trail to Japan's highest point.

Huts on Mt. Fuji were originally built as shelter from harsh mountain conditions and offer simple dorm style accommodation. Accommodations consist of a bunk, bedding, sleeping bag and pillow all in the Japanese style.

From summer 2021 guests are each afforded 1 tatami mat worth of space, an upgrade from the previous conditions. However, there will still be multiple climbing parties sleeping in the same room. Eye masks, as well as ear plugs come highly recommended and are provided by FMG.

These huts offer a fantastic cultural experience unique to Mt. Fuji and are a great way of meeting fellow climbers, exchanging stories, and experiencing camaraderie that you will never find in a five star hotel.
