Food

Fuji Discovery 3-Day Tour: Food

Throughout your entire three days with us on Mt. Fuji, you'll enjoy locally-sourced vegetables and meat, including a farm-to-table barbecue feast hosted by Satoyama Vacation. Read on to discover what's in store for your meals!

Day 1: Lunch and Dinner

On Day 1, a bento box is provided for lunch at the Mt. Fuji Satoyama Vacation site.

For dinner, you'll be treated to a farm-to-table barbecue, complete with an incredible assortment of locally-harvested vegetables and meat as well as locally-crafted beer and sake upon request!

Day 2: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

There's no messing around with breakfast at Satoyama vacation. Freshly-baked bread from the local bakery, fair-trade coffee, and locally-sourced eggs and milk are just some of the delicacies provided by our local legends. A hearty breakfast will get you prepped for the big climb ahead.

Satoyama Vacation will prepare sandwiches to pack for your climb. We suggest supplementing this with power bars and other snacks, as you'll be burning a ton of calories during the ascent.

For dinner, the Akaiwa Hachigokan mountain hut serves a delicious Japanese curry using vegetables farmed at the base of Mt. Fuji. And it's not just one bowl, it's all you can eat! While there isn't a vegetarian option, if you let us know in advance, your guide can carry up vegetarian or vegan curry packs.

Day 3: Breakfast

Your final meal on Mt. Fuji is also provided by Akaiwa Hachigokan - a scrumptious breakfast of eggs, ham, rice, and miso soup served after our return from the summit. The hot food is a welcome respite from the cold summit and makes your Fuji experience even more Japanese.

Dietary Restrictions and Snacks

Mt. Fuji's mountain huts only have traditional Japanese food available such as udon noodles, various rice bowl options, miso soup, etc. If you tell us your dietary needs in advance, our guides can carry up vegetarian or vegan curry packs for your dinner.

You will need snacks to munch on throughout the day. While you can buy snacks at the mountain huts, purchasing them in advance is the more cost-effective and reliable option. We suggest bringing crackers, candy bars, jerky, chips, cookies, trail mix, fruit, energy bars, and hard candies. Include some salty snacks to replenish lost salts.
