Food

3 Day Mt. Fuji Discovery Food

Throughout your entire 3 days with us on Mt. Fuji, you will enjoy locally sourced vegetables and meat, including a farm to table barbecue feast hosted by Satoyama Vacation. Read on to discover whats in store for your meals on the 3-Day Mt. Fuji Discovery Trip.

Day 1 Lunch and Dinner

On day 1, a bento box is provided for lunch at the Mt. Fuji Satoyama Vacation site.

For dinner you will be treated to a Farm to Table barbecue, complete with an incredible assortment of locally harvested vegetables and meat, as well as locally crafted beer and sake upon request!

Day 2 Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

There's no messing around with breakfast at Satoyama vacation. Freshly baked bread from the local bakery, fair trade coffee and locally sourced eggs and milk are just some of the delicacies provided by our local legends. A hearty breakfast will get you prepped for the big climb ahead.

Satoyama Vacation will prepare sandwiches to pack for your climb. It is suggested to supplement this with power bars and other snacks, as you will be burning a ton of calories during the ascent.

For dinner, the Akaiwa Hachigo mountain hut, uses its farmed vegetables at the base of Mt. Fuji to concoct a delicious bowl of Japanese curry for dinner. And its not just one bowl, its all you can eat! This mountain hut does not have a vegetarian option available. However, if we are informed in advanced of your dietary needs, our guides can carry up vegetarian or vegan curry packs up with them for your dinner.

Day 3 Breakfast

Your final meal on Mt. Fuji is provided at the same hut used for lodging. A large breakfast of eggs, ham, rice and miso soup is served after our return from the summit. The hot food tastes delicious and enriches your Japanese experience on Mt. Fuji.

Dietary Restrictions and Snacks

Mountain huts on Mt. Fuji will only have traditional Japanese food available, such as udon noodles, various rice bowl options, miso soup etc. If we are informed in advanced of your dietary needs, our guides can carry vegetarian or vegan curry packs up with them for your dinner.

You will need snacks for munching on throughout the day. Buying snacks at a mountain hut is an option but they are overpriced and infrequent at times. We suggest bringing crackers, candy bars, jerky, chips, cookies, trail mix, fruits, energy bars, and hard candies. Include some salty snacks to replenish lost salts.
