august 6 weather

8/6/2018

Generally fair conditions persist on Mt. Fuji with clear skies at the beginning of today moving to rain showers, fog and clouds in the afternoon and evening.

Come tomorrow, you can expect a little bit of everything. The day is expected to start off with rain, then move to fog and then become clearer later in the day.

It's anyone's guess what the sunrise will look like in these conditions as it could be anywhere from perfect to whiteout.

Safety wise, the temperatures and winds will remain moderate but given that there's rain in the forecast, if you don't have proper rain gear you will get very cold even with 6-8 degrees C temperatures and moderate winds.

Be safe out there and I wish you a happy sunrise!

    Fuji Weather

This is a regularly updated Mt. Fuji weather report provided for general informational purposes to the public. The report describes current weather conditions and issues and is not intended to be used as a forecast or an indication of whether or not one should climb Fuji.

Factors including fitness, hiking experience and gear should be taken into consideration when deciding whether or not you should climb.

Note that Mt Fuji is alpine terrain with frequent, sudden and unexpected changes in weather. Even the best models are frequently unable to predict suddenly appearing clouds, wind, rain, hail and lightning.

For weather forecasting, see the FMG page here for computer model forecasting.

Hikers climb Mt Fuji at their own risk.
