Influenced by typhoon #12, the weather on Mt. Fuji has been severely rainy with high winds of about 100kph on the summit. Visibility is also low.

Climbers should not attempt to summit or climb the mountain today. Further, roads and trains to/from Mt. Fuji tend to close down in a typhoon event so its best to skip a Fuji visit for the moment.

Looking to the next few days, the weather will open up Sunday morning and while Sunday will still be windy at the summit, it should begin dying down by noon and clearing up more in the following days.

Monday is forecast to be back to regular good climbing weather with low winds and sunny skies.

    Fuji Weather

This is a regularly updated Mt. Fuji weather report provided for general informational purposes to the public. The report describes current weather conditions and issues and is not intended to be used as a forecast or an indication of whether or not one should climb Fuji.

Factors including fitness, hiking experience and gear should be taken into consideration when deciding whether or not you should climb.

Note that Mt Fuji is alpine terrain with frequent, sudden and unexpected changes in weather. Even the best models are frequently unable to predict suddenly appearing clouds, wind, rain, hail and lightning.

For weather forecasting, see the FMG page here for computer model forecasting.

Hikers climb Mt Fuji at their own risk.
