Mountain huts on Mt. Fuji were originally built as emergency shelters and exist to this day as shelters from harsh mountain conditions. All huts offer simple dorm style accommodation, with many huts now also offering private capsules and private rooms. New for 2023 Kamaiwakan is taking reservations for its private capsule (1-2 people per capsule) and private room (1-4 people per room). All reservations at Kamaiwakan will include dinner, a futon, sleeping and pillow.
It is important to note that huts on Mt. Fuji, including Kamaiwakan, do not provide a heated dry room for drying out wet gear. It is important to climb with spare, dry clothes kept in dry bags so you will have a change of clothes in the event you are to show up at the mountain hut in wet weather. |
