Here is what the meeting point at the Tochomae Station train station looks like. Tochomae Station is on the Toei Oedo Line. This station has only one exit so if you get yourself to the Tochomae Station ticket gates (pictured to the right), there's a 100% chance that you've come to the right place.

Since there are many different entry points to this underground station, we will not find you if you wait at a ground-level entry point so you must walk down the stairs and meet us in front of the ticket gates pictured here.

Arriving to Tochomae Station by train is the easiest option since the station is easiest to find when arriving by train. To find out which train to take to get to Tochomae Station, click on Google Maps here and input your departure station/hotel, select "public transportation" and you'll get step-by-step directions on how to get to Tochomae Station via train.

If your route on it says that you need to transfer at Shinjuku Station, this is a complicated transfer so go to the next tab to get familiar with how to transfer at Shijuku Station.

If arriving by Train (recommended option)

Arriving to Tochomae Station by train will be the easiest option since the station is easiest to find when arriving via train. Tochomae Station is on the Toei Oedo Line and you may have to transfer trains to get to this train line. To find out which train to take to get to Tochomae Station, use Hyperdia to input your departure station and set your destination as "Tochomae". If your route on Hyperdia says that you need to transfer at Shinjuku Station, please read the next section to get more familiar with that transfer.

If arriving to Tochomae Station by train via Shinjuku Station

As mentioned in the above section, when figuring out how to get to Tochomae by train, an itinerary finder such as Hyperdia may tell you to transfer at Shinjuku Station. And there is no problem with that. However, Shinjuku Station is one of Tokyo's biggest stations so you should give yourself extra time (at least 15 minutes) to complete your transfer at this station.

Once at Shinjuku Station, follow the yellow signs in the direction of the Toei Oedo Line (pictured to the right).

If arriving to Tochomae Station by taxi

Taxi could be a good choice if you're coming from somewhere nearby but inconvenient to access via train. However, please note that arriving at Tochomae Station by taxi is slightly more complicated to meet the group because our meeting point is underground and the taxi will drop you off above ground at one of a number of entrances to the train station.

Please note, when you tell your taxi driver where to go, make sure to say "Tochomae Station" or "Tochomae Eki" instead of just "Tochomae". A taxi driver will interpret a destination of "Tochomae" as though you want to get dropped off at a building near the station, but not the station itself.

Once the taxi drops you off at any of these entrances, you will need to walk down the stairs and follow signs for the Tochomae Station ticket machines -- it won't be more than a 5 minute walk if you're following the signs correctly. You will know you've reached the station when you arrive at the ticket machines.

If you wait to meet the group at the ground-level entrance to the station, we will not find you since there are so many. To meet the group you must walk down the stairs and meet us in front of the ticket machines pictured in the "Pick up Location" tab.

If arriving to Tochomae Station on foot

If you're arriving at Tochomae Station by walking, you'll need to follow the same process as the taxi in that once you arrive at a Tochomae Station entrance you'll need to walk down the stairs and follow signs until you get to the ticket machines.

Since there are many different entry points to this underground station, we will not find you if you wait at a ground-level entry point so you must walk down the stairs and meet us in front of the ticket machines pictured in
the "Pick up Location" tab.

If you're thinking of walking from Shinjuku Station to Tochomae Station, you might be surprised by how complicated this short walk is. Unless you feel very confident and have spent some time walking around the West side of Shinjuku Station, it is recommended that you just take the Toei Oedo line one stop from Shinjuku to Tochomae Station just to be on the safe side. Directions by train can be found in the "Train" or "via Shinjuku Station" tabs.
